with wxWidgets 2.5 we should be able to get alpha-channel support for
rasters. my question is then, why do we need it? simple transparency i
can understand, because the non-real data in a projection should not be
seen and having multiple rasters is useful. however, when would it be
necessary to *blend* two (or more) rasters? (i'm not trying to sound
like i'm against the idea, i just want to know when it would be used.)
