[Freegis-list] NED DEMs in GRASS 5

Hello,

I've got a NED .dem file from PASDA (http://www.pasda.psc.edu/) that I'd 
like to import into GRASS. However, gdal says it's an unsupported format. 
Is there another way to get this into GRASS?
