I think we need to distinguish between a) having this flag in the GUI
and b) actually storing it in the .thuban files.
Personally, I don't think we should have that flag in the first place,
but if enough people want it, why not? It won't be much work to remove
it if it turns out nobody uses it. BTW, besides you and Jonathan, who
does actually want it?
b) is a different matter. If it turns out the flag is actually used and
people really do expect it to be saved we could perhaps add that later,
but lets leave it out of the file format for now. Adding it later is
easy, taking it out again is impossible. File formats live forever.

I think it's fine to raise the requirement to 1.2.4 or 1.2.5 even. This
is a development version after all, and the alpha channel support will
make raster image rendering better.
