I have a more general remark to make here:
Your work is great in definately going in the right direction!

This is CVS we are working with, and this is your code anyway, so:
When you are willing to respond and fix stuff later, I'd say:
just commit it when all tests run through and you are fairly sure
that this is a step in the right direction.

For other people's code or major restructuring it is still good 
to ask, but for the code parts that you are basically active with,
you are also the best to judge if this was a useful steps.

And then again we can all also revoke, this is CVS for a reason? ;)

Bottom line: IMO Keep it comming in CVS if you feel like it.
