i don't know anything about building rpms for gdal, so i think you'll have 
to wait until the guys at intevation get in in the morning :)

the python files for gdal are in the pymod directory if that helps at
all.

sorry about all the trouble. from an earlier discussion i think that
thuban will be moving to require 1.2.5 for more than just alpha support,
so i imagine this problem will get resolved quickly.
